HKUST Chemistry Summer Research Program 2026
⚠️ Important Notice: It is extremely competitive to apply for our group. We receive many applications each year and only select a limited number of outstanding candidates who demonstrate exceptional academic performance, strong programming skills, and genuine passion for AI for Science research.
Join our 5-week Summer Research Program to collaborate with top faculty on real-world projects. 📅 Program Dates: 6th July – 7th August, 2026
💰 Stipend: HK$10,000 to cover expenses
🏠 Accommodation: On-campus housing provided
Eligibility
- Open to Year 2-3 undergraduates in Chemistry or related fields
- Seek host group approval by contacting our faculty
- Strong academic record and programming skills preferred

- Academic transcripts
- A brief statement of interest explaining why you want to join our group specifically
- Links to your GitHub or any previous coding/research projects (highly recommended)
- Evidence of your programming skills (Python, PyTorch, etc.)
Selection criteria for our group:
- Strong academic performance in relevant courses (CS, Math, Chemistry, Physics, Materials)
- Programming experience (Python, GitHub, and PyTorch/JAX experiences are required)
- Strong interest in AI for Science and physical sciences (Chemistry, Physics, Materials)
